Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)

Central Lakes College (CLC) is making its new student enrollment processes for new incoming Fall Semester students and PSEO students so you can best assist those students who are planning to attend CLC as new PSEO students or traditional new students.

CLC has enhanced its new enrollment process by increasing the number of orientation events that students may participate in and improving the experience for students who wish to complete the entire enrollment and orientation process online. We have create a new website which can guide students through the entire enrollment and orientation process at CLC. The new website is the website will serve as the one destination for students who wish to enroll, providing them all of the information they need to begin their college experience.

The biggest change in the enrollment process is that we will be requiring students to sign up online to attend a registration session. If you visit the website you may view all of the registration sessions (we offer multiple registration sessions by program area and campus multiple times per week beginning in April). We have significantly expanded the number of registration sessions (and also offering online registration sessions) to provide more flexibility for future enrollees.

Students who are interested in PSEO must sign up to attend a PSEO registration session.

The first PSEO session is TBD. Students who are uncertain about whether to register or not may attend these PSEO registration sessions and not register, but it is important that they sign up to attend the session, as we are capping the number of students who may attend. If you review the website, you will notice that we will offer four registration sessions for PSEO students this Spring - allowing students to learn about the PSEO program, and if they are still interested, register at the end of the evening.

Students who attend a registration session must have completed the previous components - Admission and Assessment of CLC's Enrollment process.

Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows 10th-, 11th- and 12th-grade students to earn both high school and college credit while still in high school, through enrollment in and successful completion of college-level, nonsectarian courses at eligible participating postsecondary institutions. Most PSEO courses are offered on the campus of the postsecondary institution; some courses are offered online. Each participating college or university sets its own requirements for enrollment into the PSEO courses. Eleventh and 12th-grade students may take PSEO courses on a full- or part-time basis; 10th graders may take one career/technical PSEO course. If they earn at least a grade C in that class, they may take additional PSEO courses.

There is no charge to PSEO students for tuition, books or fees for items that are required to participate in a course. Students must meet the PSEO residency and eligibility requirements and abide by participation limits specified in Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.09. Funds are available to help pay transportation expenses for qualifying students to participate in PSEO courses on college campuses. Schools must provide information to all students in grades 8-11 and their families by March 1, every year. Students must notify their school by May 30 if they want to participate in PSEO for the following school year. For current information about the PSEO program, visit the Minnesota Department of Education’s Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) webpage.
